Three Killed in Belleville, IL, House Fire; Probe Underway

Encountering heavy fire, a second-alarm was requested, Belleville Fire Chief Stephanie Mills said.

Three men were killed in a house fire in Belleville Monday morning.

The cause of the fire is under investigation, according to Belleville Fire Chief Stephanie Mills. 

She told KSDK the fire started at a home near the intersection of South 13th and West Lincoln streets sometime between 5 and 5:30 a.m. Encountering heavy fire, firefighters called for a second alarm. 

St. Clair County Coroner Calvin Dye Sr. identified the victims as George Pappas, 79, Pioquinto Pappas, 39, and Christopher Ellis, 20.
